The most common issue with stainless steel alloys is that they have the tendency to undergo a process known as oxidation. Oxidation corrosion weakens the structural integrity of any project. Using the appropriate material in combination with good finish delays or in some cases prevents corrosion. One such instance is the use of 310 Stainless Steel Round Bar, which has exceptional resistance to corrosion. As an alloy that resists heat, this austenitic steel is known as a very versatile, multi-faceted grade. From food processing to furnaces, the use of a grade Stainless Steel 310 Round Bar is innumerable.

The temperature in furnaces is often very high. Not many steels have the ability to withstand furnace temperatures without losing their tensile strength and mechanical properties. Since the alloy can do this and deliver a good performance, the ASTM A276 Type 310 Square Bar is the preferred material for the construction of furnaces and furnace equipment. In the petroleum industry, the refineries have catalytic recovery systems, the operating temperature ranges between 650°F and 1000°F. The A479 Gr 310 Hex Bar is a successful addition to these refineries because the alloy can function without loss of its properties up to a temperature of 2010°F. The 310 Stainless Steel Bar is also proven to be useful in environments that have mildly carburizing temperatures.
